Nov.02,2015 ICSSPE Communities & Crisis

Dear members of ICSSPE, colleagues and friends,

We are excited to announce that ICSSPE’s Communities and Crisis seminar will be returning in November!

The seminar, which has attracted so many participants from around the world and from a wide range of backgrounds, offers a unique combination of state-of-the-art knowledge and practical experiences.

Communities and Crisis is the only week-long event that explores the relationship between sport and psychosocial support.

Bringing together international experts from the fields of Psychology, Sport and Exercise Sciences, Adapted Physical Activity, and Social Work, this interactive seminar gives practitioners and students an opportunity to delve into programme design, participatory and inclusive approaches to planning and delivery, focusing on skills and techniques that are directly useable with socially disadvantaged or post-disaster/post conflict situations.  It also offers an opportunity for participants to meet and learn alongside people from around the world, and from a wide range of backgrounds.

The seminar offers learning opportunities in a rich variety of subjects, including: psychological aspects of trauma and trauma relief; the usage of sport, physical activity and play in community building and disaster relief; development of adapted and inclusive physical activity programmes; gender issues and gender equality; child protection; and monitoring and evaluation.
The seminar takes place from 2-7 November 2015 at HausRheinsberg, 45 minutes from Berlin, Germany.
